Underwriters Laboratories is proud of its ongoing support of the ASEAN-US Science Prize for Women! Each year several Ph.D. scientists apply from all 10 countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations for this prize.  The theme this year was Clean Air and Clean Water, and 64 eligible applicants competed for the top place in Senior Scientist and Mid-Career Scientist categories.

“I am terrifically honored to represent Underwriters Laboratories today as we judge and award the 2021 ASEAN-US Science Prize for Women," Dr. Chris Cramer, Underwriters Laboratories senior vice president and chief research officer, said in his opening remarks for the finalist judging. "Thank you to the ASEAN Secretariat, COSTI, and USAID for your trusted partnership in this important endeavor. And, still more, thank you to our incredible finalists as well as to all the amazing candidates who have participated this year. It is a privilege to recognize and highlight the breadth of knowledge, contributions, and commitment that they all bring to their professional endeavors. Our future is bright with the commitment of those with such profound minds, who also strive to share and help train the next generation.”
