ULRI Leaders Receive Prestigious Women of Color STEM Awards
Four UL Research Institutes (ULRI) leaders were honored for their achievements in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields during the 2023 Women of Color STEM DTX Conference, held Oct. 12–14 in Detroit, Michigan.
The ULRI honorees are:
- Dr. Judith Jeevarajan, vice president and executive director of ULRI’s Electrochemical Safety Research Institute (ESRI) — Special Recognition award amongst Leaders and Legends
- Dr. Kelly Keena, senior director of the ULRI Office of Research Experiences & Education (OREE) — Educational Leadership–Corporate Promotion of Education award
- Dr. Gloria Pumpuni-Lenss, ULRI director of operations — Technology All-Star award
- Deepa Shankar, director of partnerships — Diversity Leadership in Industry award
Since 1995, the Women of Color STEM DTX Conference has recognized excellence in the STEM fields and drawn attention to the underrepresentation of women across all disciplines.
