Updated Evidence-Based Structural Firefighting Course Now Available on the Fire Safety Academy

The Fire Safety Research Institute has launched the updated Evidence-Based Structural Firefighting course based on the latest research and fire service guidance. Several of our team members contributed to the development of the recent NFPA 1700 updates that informed this course revision. This free course helps firefighters connect research to real-world strategy, tactics, and fireground decision-making. 

The updated course now includes new lessons on search and rescue tactical considerations and how to apply them before, during, and after suppression. In addition, the course provides guidance on translating research into training and operations by using the Evidence-Based Considerations for Your Fireground Playbook.
