WRI India: Making Public Bus Transit Safer — Interventions to Reduce Blind Spots in Public Buses

Through a partnership with the World Resources Institute (WRI), Underwriters Laboratories aimed to reduce public bus accidents in India by evaluating crashes and piloting evidence-based measures to reduce such incidents. Through this initiative, WRI and UL collaborate with the bus transit agencies for developing solutions to address specific safety concerns and measuring the impact on crash reduction. This report shares the outcome of the partnership efforts, which includes infrastructure changes, educational and practical training for drivers and positive behavioral changes.
