Ron Blaustein is senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, providing financial stewardship and guidance as the organizations build on existing strengths to address current and emerging public safety challenges.

An experienced financial strategist with extensive nonprofit experience, Blaustein joined UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement from the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he served most recently as senior vice president and CFO. He has spent the last two decades leading major academic medical centers in the successful implementation of transformational growth strategies, including the construction of new campuses and significant research expansion that prompted several public debt rating upgrades.

Blaustein earned an MBA, with a focus on finance, strategy, and health services management, from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He was recently named CFO of the Year by Financial Executives International and has been designated nationally for several years as a top CFO to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Blaustein is a member and past subcommittee chair of the Economic Club of Chicago and on the finance committee of Keshet. He serves as well as a board member of Northwestern University Hillel and volunteers for CJE SeniorLife.
