ULRI Executives Named as Finalists for 2026 ORBIE Awards

Two leaders at UL Research Institutes have been named finalists for a prestigious executive recognition program honoring leadership excellence across the Chicago area. Kristen Delphos and Vasu Modekurti were named finalists for the 2026 ORBIE Awards, which recognize C‑suite and executive leaders for their impact and achievements.

Delphos, vice president of communications and public affairs for ULRI, has been named a finalist for the 2026 ChicagoCMO ORBIE Awards in the corporate category. The ChicagoCMO ORBIE Awards recognize chief marketing officers and equivalent executives for leadership, business impact, and engagement in their industries and communities. More than 100 nominations were submitted this year, with criteria evaluated through an independent, peer-adjudicated process led by senior CMO industry leaders.

As a finalist, Delphos was recognized for her leadership and management effectiveness, the business value created through communications and marketing initiatives, and her engagement in industry and community endeavors. She will be honored alongside fellow finalists at an awards ceremony on May 13, 2026.

Modekurti, senior vice president and chief information officer for ULRI and UL Standards & Engagement, was named a finalist for the 2026 ChicagoCIO ORBIE Awards in the Nonprofit/Public Sector category. The ChicagoCIO ORBIE Awards recognize chief information officers and technology executives for excellence in technology leadership, innovation, and business value creation across Chicagoland organizations.

Modekurti will be honored alongside fellow finalists at the ChicagoCIO ORBIE Awards ceremony on May 8, 2026.

Established in 1998, the ORBIE Awards are considered the preeminent executive recognition program for C-suite leaders, spotlighting individuals who demonstrate strong vision, deliver measurable business results, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
