Xiaojia He, PhD wins research award from the Society of Toxicology for his work on the effects of vanadium pentoxide

Dr. Xiaojia He, a research scientist at Chemical Insights Research Institute, a unit of UL Research Institutes, has been recognized with a Best Publication Award by the Society for Toxicology’s Exposure Specialty Section (ESS) for his paper “Low-dose Vanadium Pentoxide Perturbed Lung Metabolism Associated with Inflammation and Fibrosis Signaling in Male Animal and In Vitro Models.” This research appeared in the American Journal of Physiology – Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology.

In an upcoming webinar, Dr. He will discuss his research findings on the effects of vanadium, used as a steel alloy and a dietary supplement, on mammalian metabolism when concentrations are found in food and water. An important industrial compound, vanadium pentoxide (V+5), when ingested at low levels, could alter metabolism and contribute to common human lung diseases.

Dr. He will be giving a webinar to discuss this award-winning research on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M.  You can register for this free webinar here.
