
Members of UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute will join researchers, innovators, and technology leaders from science-driven industries at the TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo, taking place March 10–12, 2026, in Raleigh, NC.
During the Energy Storage Symposium on March 10 at 4 p.m. EST (3 p.m. CT), Electrochemical Safety Research team members will present the following poster sessions:
- Vinay Premnath, Ph.D., director of safety research, “Characterization of particulate and gaseous emissions from thermal runaway of sodium-ion cells.”
- Dhev Kannan, Ph.D., research scientist, “Characterizing the safety of commercial sodium-ion batteries.”
- Byoungchul Kwon, Ph.D., research scientist, “Thermal Runaway of Portable Lithium-ion Batteries and Fire Suppression in an Aircraft Cargo Compartment.”
These posters will present the team’s latest findings in battery safety and innovation, offering insights into the science behind developing safer, more reliable battery systems.
