
The Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has invited Judy Jeevarajan, Ph.D., vice president and executive director of UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute, to speak at the Hazardous Materials Research and Development Forum 2026, taking place March 31–April 2 in Washington, D.C.
Built around the pillars of innovation, collaboration, and engagement, the forum brings together public, government, and hazmat industry stakeholders to exchange ideas that advance the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
On March 31, Judy will deliver two presentations during the Research Development & Technology Forum:
- “Battery Safety Research” at 9:15 a.m. EST (8:15 a.m. CST)
- “UL Program Overview and Packaging Project Highlight” at 2:30 p.m. EST (1:30 p.m. CST)
The Electrochemical Safety Research team will also host an exhibit booth showcasing research initiatives focused on battery safety and next‑generation energy storage systems.
