UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute participated in a technical webinar hosted by the Maritime Battery Forum on April 29.
Judy Jeevarajan, Ph.D., the Electrochemical Safety Research group’s vice president and executive director, and research scientist Dhevathi Kannan, Ph.D., shared insights from the studies on performance and safety tests carried out at the single cell and small module levels, as well as gas and particulate emission characterization of single cell.
Their presentation, “Performance and Safety Studies of Sodium-ion Commercial and Custom Cells and Modules,” highlighted emerging energy storage research shaping the future of the maritime industry.
