UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute will participate in the Flow Batteries North America 2026 Conference, taking place Oct. 19–22 at The Camby Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona.
As an invited speaker of the technical program, Devashish Salpekar, Ph.D., research scientist, will present “Impact of Off-Nominal Conditions on Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Performance” on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. MST. The presentation will examine how operating conditions outside the expected range influence the performance and behavior of vanadium redox flow batteries, one of the leading technologies for large-scale energy storage.
By investigating the relationship between operating conditions and system performance, the research provides insights that can help improve flow battery reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term deployment across a range of grid applications.
Join the session to learn how research-driven insights can support the safe and reliable expansion of long-duration energy storage systems.
Flow Batteries North America is hosted by Battery Council International, the trade association for the North American battery industry. Through its Flow Battery Industry Group, BCI brings together manufacturers, researchers, and industry stakeholders to advance safety, performance, grid stability, and market growth for flow battery technologies.
