We are excited that UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute will share research that supports the development of safer, more reliable energy storage technologies for mobility applications at ASME DRIVN 2026, taking place Sept. 14-16 in Detroit, Michigan.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, during conference sessions beginning at 9:20 a.m. EDT, Avijit Karmakar, Ph.D., research scientist, will present “Evaluation of Thermal Management Strategies for Lithium-Ion Battery Modules Under Safety-Relevant Operating Conditions.” The presentation explores a physics-based thermal modeling framework developed to assess battery module cooling strategies under safety-relevant operating conditions.
