
Judy Jeevarajan, Ph.D., Vice President and Executive Director of the UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety group, will speak at the 2025 MWMA Fall Summit on Sept. 16 in Burlington, Vermont.
Lithium-ion batteries continue to present significant safety and fire hazards and challenges for municipal waste management services and industry. Dr. Jeevarajan will share research insights and expertise at the “Problem Materials Part 1: Lithium Ion-Batteries” session, scheduled from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET. The session will explore lithium-ion battery disposal best practices, highlight innovative detection technologies, and discuss the future recycling capacity for these types of materials.
