Student Engagement Program

Interns and fellows who join UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement are invited to participate in the Student Engagement Program, developed and led by ULRI’s Institute for Research Experiences & Education.

This supplemental support program provides professional development, mentorship, networking, and connection for interns and fellows across our organizations.

The program begins with an in-person gathering at the ULRI headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, and features opportunities to get involved and network with researchers, scientists, and other experts across our organizations throughout your internship or fellowship.

Participating in the Student Engagement Program includes:

  • Connection with a personal mentor who can help guide and support you in your career development
  • Meetups and networking with other interns and fellows, organizational leaders, and research experts
  • Weekly professional learning workshops and growth sessions
  • Invitation to UL Research Institutes’ Annual Research Symposium
