GEM Fellows at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement have the opportunity to take a leading role in the latest discoveries in safety science. 2024 GEM Fellow Britney Mack, who conducted water harvesting research with ULRI’s Materials Discovery Research Institute, shared: “I now have valuable experience with equipment that I would have never had access to. This 10-week internship has given me a year’s worth of experience.” Following her fellowship at MDRI, Mack earned first place in the technical poster competition at the 2024 GEM Annual Board Meeting and Conference in September.
