The Electrochemical Safety Research Institute (ESRI) is a sponsor of the Tech Fest Expo on Nov. 8 (which is also National STEM Day) at the University of Houston Technology Bridge. Approximately 2,000 middle- and high-school students are expected to attend this event, which will showcase cutting-edge technologies, products, and innovations to foster interest in STEM education and introduce career pathways in technology.

ESRI's booth in the Research & Recycling activation zone will promote the Be Nice To Your Device campaign, showcasing the circularity of lithium-ion battery recycling and careers in research. ESRI will provide students with a hands-on experience to share knowledge about the different phases of the battery value chain (from extraction to recycling) and share information about potential career opportunities in the safety science field.

ESRI's Vice President and Executive Director, Dr. Judy Jeevarajan, and Dr. Sohini Bhattacharyya, Research Scientist, Rice University, will speak as part of a panel about how students can take action in their schools and communities around lithium-ion battery recycling to promote sustainability and safety.
