UL Research Institutes’ Electrochemical Safety Research Institute will contribute to discussions advancing next-generation energy storage technologies at ACS Fall 2026, taking place August 23-27 in Chicago, Illinois. The American Chemical Society conference brings together members of the global scientific community to exchange ideas and explore the latest developments in chemistry and materials science.
As part of the technical program, Bhuvsmita Bhargava, post doctoral researcher, will present a talk on “Safety-informed cathode engineering of NFPP for high performance sodium ion batteries” on Tuesday, August 25, at 3:30 p.m. CDT. This research, conducted in collaboration with the University of Houston, examines strategies to overcome the electrochemical limitations of Polyanion Na-ion Cathode (NFPP), a promising sodium-ion battery cathode material. By integrating safety considerations into cathode design, the work contributes to a deeper understanding of sodium-ion battery performance and reliability, helping inform the future deployment of next-generation energy storage systems.
Connect with us at ACS Fall 2026 to learn how safety science is helping accelerate innovation across emerging battery chemistries.
