Development of Fireground Exposure Simulator (FES) Prop forPPE Testing and Evaluation

This journal article describes the development and characterization of a new prop designed to provide researchers, equipment manufacturers, and standards organizations a means to produce a controlled environment to characterize PPE performance. UL FSRI partnered with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Globe fire suits (now MSA), and the Illinois Fire Service Institute to conduct this research.
