Terrence R. Brady is president and CEO of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. In his role, Brady sets the direction, priorities, and strategies for the organization’s scientific research, standards development, education, and public outreach activities. He is a recognized thought leader in global safety science and a frequent speaker and author on empowering trust in a world of increasingly complex supply chains and technologies.
Brady previously served as UL’s chief commercial and legal officer, managing key functions such as legal services, ethics and compliance, government affairs, global security and brand protection, corporate marketing, and enterprise strategy.
Prior to joining UL, Brady was an associate and partner for 27 years in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn LLP, concentrating his practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and corporate governance. Brady graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and Notre Dame Law School, where he was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy.
