Overdischarge and Aging Analytics of Li-Ion Cells
Overdischarge occurs when a cell is discharged below the manufacturer’s recommended end-of-discharge voltage. Although a single overdischarge does not necessarily cause a safety hazard, it forces electrodes outside their safe potential range and adversely affects the integrity of cell components. This study focuses on the cumulative effect of overdischarging a lithium-ion cell with long-term charge and discharge cycles.
