Online Training Highlights Underwriters Laboratories Research for the Development of More Effective Firefighting Tactics
The UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute (FSRI) released a new online training course as part of the 2012 research conducted on Governors Island in New York City, N.Y. in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the New York City Fire Department, and the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation.
In the “Scientific Research for the Development of More Effective Tactics” online course available on the UL FSRI Fire Safety Academy, students will learn how to improve firefighter safety and occupant survivability through the application of tactical considerations. The content addresses the control of ventilation and and the use of exterior fire suppression to maximize occupant tenability. At the end of the course, students will be required to complete a final assessment.
