Please join us on March 23, 2021, for this one-hour battery safety science webinar during which Dr. Pierre L’Eplattenier and Iñaki Çaldichoury, senior developers - Electromagnetics/Software Engineering at Ansys will present “Including Batteries in Electric or Hybrid Car Crash Simulations.”
In recent years, much has been done in simulation to accompany the renewed growth of electric vehicles. Among the main challenges is the inclusion of the electrochemical and thermal behavior of a battery pack in a car crash simulation. Pierre and Iñaki are senior developers of the Electromagnetics (EM) solver LS-DYNA and in their presentation will show the work that has been done towards building a true multiphysics simulation, discuss observations made and the challenges remaining.
Dr. Pierre L’Eplattenier is a senior developer at Ansys, working on electromagnetics developments in the commercial software LS-DYNA. Pierre joined LSTC in 2004 after working in a French defense lab as well as at Sandia National Labs. He earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the Paris University at Orsay in 1995.
Iñaki Çaldichoury is a senior developer at Ansys, working on developments in the commercial software LS-DYNA. Iñaki joined LSTC in 2011 after graduating from French Aeronautical Engineering School ISAE. His focus resides in multiphysics applications involving Electromagnetics, fluid dynamics (CFD), and conjugate heat transfer.
